Allison Stribling

Funding and Client Relations Specialist

My name is Allison Stribling and I work in Hatch Mott MacDonald’s Tallahassee, Florida, office. My role at the company is somewhat different than most as I do not have an engineering background; instead, my core functions are business development, client relations, and outreach. My goal every day is to identify new projects, maintain close relationships with Hatch Mott MacDonald’s clients, and identify opportunities for the firm to expand and gain exposure.

I work with a large and diverse team that is spread out among Hatch Mott MacDonald’s Southeast offices, including engineers and technical staff as well as marketing and administrative staff. In addition, I am exposed to all of the firm’s disciplines, which has proven to be a valuable educational tool for me. With a background in environmental studies, I am able to put my knowledge to use while learning from my coworkers about their technical specialties in an environment of collaboration and support.

One of the key elements in any project is funding. Since many infrastructure projects rely on public funding, I have become skilled at helping municipalities navigate various funding applications processes. Recently, I helped secure $2.4 million in grant funding to build a water infrastructure project. Not only did the project provide public benefits in terms of infrastructure, it also created jobs for a major industry in the town, which is especially important during uncertain economic times.

My background prior to joining Hatch Mott MacDonald involved working with state and local government. This experience solidified my interest in continuing to work to enhance and support state and local governments, which I am able to accomplish at Hatch Mott MacDonald. I am gratified that my work for the firm contributes directly to the improvement of local infrastructure and the protection of natural resources.

I’m lucky that my work for Hatch Mott MacDonald is also closely aligned with my personal interests. I have a passion for travel, both domestic and overseas, and I frequently get the opportunity to travel as a part of my job, giving me the chance to meet new people and experience new cultures, food, and scenery. In addition, preserving natural resources is something that affects me in a very personal way, as I spend much of my free time enjoying water sports such as fishing, kayaking, boating, or spending time at the beach.
