Jon Barbalich
Practice Leader: Pipelines
Jon Barbalich, PE, is Hatch Mott MacDonald’s Practice Leader for the firm’s Pipeline practice. With 19 years of experience, Jon’s background includes a wide array of skills in all aspects of pipeline projects, from feasibility and route selection to contractor selection and construction. He has substantial experience in new construction, rehabilitation, relocation and replacement, and operation and maintenance projects in the natural gas industry.
Jon’s work on pipeline projects throughout the United States has helped him gain expertise in key project areas, including: documentation for construction bid packages, contract specifications, permitting conditions, and mitigation measures; public involvement and project permitting; and coordination and resolution of complex issues for natural gas projects in the pre-construction and construction phases.
Most recently, Jon served as the Project Manager for the Creole Trail Pipeline Project for Cheniere Energy, where he oversaw the engineering, procurement and project management for 36 miles of pipeline. In addition, Jon has been the Program Coordinator, Project Manager and Engineer for projects under a corporate strategic alliance for over 10 years, supporting projects at various sites in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
Jon is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
