Mark Tompeck, PE, is Hatch Mott MacDonald’s Water Practice Leader. With over 30 years of comprehensive project experience, he is helping position the firm as an industry-leader in water supply engineering solutions.
Mark's broad experience covers a range of projects from planning and design to permitting and construction engineering. He has managed the design and construction of treatment facilities, wells, pipelines, pumping facilities, and storage tanks, using an array of techniques and technologies. He has focused his efforts on conventional and advanced water treatment design including iron and manganese removal, hardness treatment, micro/ultra-filtration, reverse osmosis, ozonation, ultraviolet (UV) disinfection, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), DAF, radionuclide removal, and taste and odor treatment.
Mark has served as the Project Manager or Project Director on many water treatment facility projects including the Tampa Bay Seawater Desalination Facility upgrade and the 120 MGD Little Falls Water Treatment Plant for the Passaic Valley Water Commission.. Mark also recently served as Project Director in charge of the design, permitting, and construction of a mechanical dewatering facility in Aqua, Pennsylvania, that was designed, constructed, and placed into operation in less than 12 months.
Mark shares his expertise and promotes dialogue among his colleagues in the industry through the publications he authors and presentations he gives at industry events and conferences. He is a member of the American Water Works Association, the International Desalination Association, and the Design Build Institute of America.
