I’m a senior writer and marketing specialist in Hatch Mott MacDonald’s Pleasanton, California office. As a part of the marketing team for 18 western states, I work on proposals of all sizes. I specialize in, and enjoy the challenge of, writing very competitive multi-million dollar proposals that require a clear expression of our firm’s qualifications, expertise, and differentiators. Our department has helped the West Unit achieve a win ratio of 53 percent—which is significantly above the industry average.

In addition to my marketing responsibilities, I have been a member of Hatch Mott MacDonald’s Sustainability Committee since 2008. The committee is tasked with facilitating and guiding the advancement of the firm’s corporate and project sustainability initiatives. I am very active on the committee and manage the Sustainability Knowledge Center on the company’s Intranet, and serve on the Sub-Committee for Sustainable Projects. I recently coordinated a sustainability seminar in San Jose for our clients. The seminar’s theme was how public agencies can make sustainability cost effective.

In today’s economy, I know I am fortunate to have a meaningful job in a stable company. Hatch Mott MacDonald has continued to grow despite the economic downturn, and I think this is due to a number of factors that include strong ethics, a long history of innovation, and perhaps most important—an exemplary track record of client satisfaction. Being genuinely proud of the company I work for makes writing proposals much easier, and makes my job all the more rewarding.
