Practice Leader: Wastewater

Robert Weimar, PE, BCEE, is Hatch Mott MacDonald’s Wastewater Practice Leader. His leadership and expertise, developed during 39 years of providing consulting engineering services to public and private sector clients throughout North America, make him an asset to the firm’s clients and to the Wastewater industry.

With comprehensive knowledge in all areas of the wastewater industry, Robert has provided planning, design, and construction services for a wide range of environmental infrastructure projects, and his extensive project management experience has helped successfully deliver projects including water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and conveyance, drainage management, solid waste, hazardous waste, and air pollution projects. Most recently, Robert served as the Chief of Program Management for The Metropolitan District (CT), where he was directly responsible for the development and execution of a $2 billion-dollar Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) and Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) program for a sewerage system to service 400,000 people in eight towns.

Robert’s expertise in the wastewater industry sets him apart from his peers, and he has been honored with several industry awards, most recently including the American Consulting Engineers Council’s Excellence Award for his work on the New Britain, Connecticut Water Treatment Plant Replacement Project. Mr. Weimar is also certified as a Board Certified Environmental Engineer in water and wastewater by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. In addition, has authored or coauthored numerous publications, provided expert witness testimony, participated in public hearings, and given technical presentations for industry conferences.
