The Turnpike service area had gasoline discharges that impacted soil and groundwater. The dissolved phase plume was migrating off-site, and there were concerns with vapor intrusion. HMM completed the remedial investigation and design, and oversees the remedial actions. We make modifications to the system based on assessment of efficacy and negotiate with the NJDEP to reduce compliance monitoring requirements, resulting in minimized remedial action costs.

HMM investigated contamination and designed a soil vapor extraction/sparging system and groundwater recovery for plume control. Flexibility was built into the design to ramp down systems as cleanup progressed. HMM is responsible for operating and maintaining the remedial systems and compliance monitoring and reporting. The plume control system is the only remedial action continuing to prevent off-site migration.
