Tunnel Information Management System

As Project Manager on a Middlesex County Utilities Authority project to manage the construction of a 13 ft diameter tunnel, HMM needed a program to record and report on per shift inspections and report to the client on daily progress vs. planned. In addition, HMM needed to develop a progress site accessible to the public, so that Middlesex County residents as well as Middlesex County Utility Authority executives and other client organizations could monitor progress from anywhere in the world.

HMM designed a database to store shift reports and a simple user interface for progress reporting. In addition, HMM designed a site driven by Google Maps into which inspectors could load shift reports and stakeholders could track project progress. HMM integrated all facets of tunnel construction, including ring build, grouting, and equipment used. This project involved experts from the Tunnels, GIS, and Information Management practices.
