New Kensington, PA

The Municipal Sanitary Authority of New Kensington (MSANK) required a software program to help manage the myriad Preventative and Corrective Maintenance measures that a sewer collection system and processing plant demands, including the hundreds of tasks that must be completed to keep the system operating at peak efficiency and meet government standards.

HMM conducted workshops with MSANK to determine the design of the program, which covered the entire collection system (pipes, manholes, catch basins, pumping stations) and all equipment at the plant. HMM acted as the programmer and the project manager to deliver the software, and local HMM experts provided QA/QC of the program prior to deployment.

Project Highlights:

  • Built system housing all documentation for operating the sewer system and plant
  • Linked documents to Work Orders for easy reference
  • Linked 300GB of CCTV videos directly to GIS
  • Inventoried all field and plant assets
  • CCTV of major sewer lines
  • Located manholes on GPS, opened, and photographed to show structure
  • Created manhole inspection reports
  • Developed GIS based on field information with CCTV and inspection reports linked to it
